House Rules

We try to keep the rules to a minimum. We understand that you’re on holiday.

Number of guests
The number of people staying in the gîte shall not exceed the number of people mentioned on the booking form.

The gite holds a maximum of three people.

Insurance
Guests are requested to arrange comprehensive (travel) insurance, including holiday cancellation and full coverage of your personal belongings. These are not provided by the owner’s insurance.

Please note that the following insurance cover is compulsory for all guests:

Liability insurance to cover the cost of all damage and harm to the property, the property content, the garden, the neighboring properties/gardens and people and animals – caused intentionally or unintentionally by any member, including pets, of the group.

Liability of the owners
The owner cannot be held liable for interruption or failure in the supply of public services to the property (electricity, water, phone/internet), either announced or unannounced.

The owners cannot be held liable for loss, damage,  injury or inconvenience due to weather conditions, strikes, riots, wars or any other matters beyond the control of the owners.

The owners cannot be held liable for any accidents or injuries sustained in or around the property.

The owners cannot be held liable for loss, damage or theft of the clients’ property.

Cleaning
The gîte should be left clean and tidy at the time of your departure. Dishes should be clean and put away, and the kitchen and bathroom left in a reasonable state.

We retain the right to deduct an amount from the damage deposit if the gîte is left uncleaned and extra time or expenditure on our part is needed for additional cleaning.

Care of the property
We ask that guests take good care of the property. Please report any problems, defects or breakages, regardless of the cause, to the owners without delay. This gives us the opportunity to resolve the situation there and then if possible.

If something in the gîte is not working or you have any other issues with the property, please let us know immediately so that we have the opportunity to resolve the situation.

When guests leave the property – for a day out, for instance – please ensure that all the windows and doors are shut. The weather can be quite changeable in Brittany.

Special care should be taken to shut the Velux roof windows. They can be left in the locked ‘aeration’ position – if you’re not familiar with how this works on a Velux, we’ll be happy to show you

All appliances should be turned off when guest leave the property.

The owners retain the right to enter the property when deemed necessary.

Smoking & Vaping
Smoking in the gîte is strictly forbidden.
Vaping is absolutely fine.

Electricity usage
Use of electricity  above normal (defined as max. 15 kWh average per night of stay) is subject to a charge of 0,25 per kWh. Electric cars cannot be charged at the gîte.

House Rules and Considerations for dogs
We ask that you don’t allow your dog to go upstairs in the gite. There is a gate at the bottom of the stairs to make this request easier for guests.

Dogs should not be left alone in the gîte for extended periods.

Although the gite is not close to a main road, the garden is not completely fenced-off, so your dog should not be left without supervision.

Direct access to the land is via the gîte garden. Please be aware that this is a very rural community. Deer and other fun-to-chase wildlife will be around. There are also often cows, sheep and horses on the fields nearby. Therefore we ask that owners keep control over their animals at all times. This includes keeping barking to a real minimum.

Naturally we expect owners to clean up after their dogs around the property.

Dogs should be treated for fleas and worms before arrival, have an ID tattoo or microchip, be up to date with their vaccinations.

Please check the following website for the specific rules to travel to France with your pet: http://www.pettravel.com/immigration/France.cfm

If you are coming from the UK, please take note of the specific rules to return to the UK with your pet: https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad.

Please make sure your liability/travel insurance covers damage (to our or our neighbours’ property or a third person or animal) caused by your pet.

Thankyou.
